Tax Justice and Tuition Workshop at WKU

This email from Eric Bain-Selbo

Colleagues,
Given Gov. Bevin’s proposed budget cuts for higher education, rising tuition, and burgeoning student debt, I can’t imagine a more timely event than this Tax Justice and Tuition Workshop on Thursday, Feb. 11, from 2-4 pm. The workshop (presented by Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, and sponsored on campus by the Institute for Citizenship and Social Responsibility) will be held in DSU 2123. Students, faculty, staff, and administrators are encouraged and welcome to attend. Part of the workshop will be a primer on taxes and the state budget, with a turn then to the implications for tuition at Kentucky’s “public” universities. It will conclude with consideration of ways in which people can act to share their concerns on these matters and effect change. Feel free to share the attached flyer.
For those who want to continue the conversation beyond 4 pm, you are invited to the ICSR Salon (an informal gathering for discussion) in Tate Page Hall 110 immediately following the workshop.
Cheers,
Eric Bain-Selbo
